In Ireland
From March 2005, Kimmage DSC, in association with INTRAC and MDF, began offering a range of specialised courses for the Irish development sector. These are courses that had hitherto provided by APSO and latterly by Development Cooperation Ireland.
IN COUNTRY TRAINING
To facilitate participants who may not be in a position to leave their post for an extended period of time, Kimmage DSC is in a position to provide in-country training in another host country. Depending on the requirements and on the professional qualifications and experience of the candidates, a programme will be specially designed for each individual or group of participants in collaboration with the organisation and in accordance with the specific needs identified, thereby ensuring that the training is relevant and effective. The programmes are run at a time and for a duration appropriate to the requesting organisation.
As part of its outreach services, Kimmage has been closely collaborating with Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke Training Centre for Development Co-operation (MS-TCDC), based in Arusha Tanzania. From April 2003, in collaboration with MS-TCDC, Kimmage DSC has initiated a pilot programme to develop its consultancy activities in the East African region. This has required the employment of a Coordinator of a new East Africa Programme.
