Eamon Brehony (B Agr Sc., MAg Sc., Ph D) is an occasional lecturer in Project Planning and Management and Ethics of Development for both the BA and MA programmes at Kimmage.
Eamon has over twenty years experience working in the development sector for a range of different organisations including Concern Worldwide, and Trocaire and has also worked with a number of religious congregations in planning and evaluating various programmes.
His areas of expertise lie in Rural Development, Indigenous Knowledge and Ethics of Development. He has carried out a range of consultancies, evaluations and research in East Africa including an investigation into witchcraft and its effects on development. He spent fourteen years working in Tanzania, where he was involved in mediation work within pastoralist communities and also carried out a number of studies into pastoralist/farmer conflicts. He has also worked for shorter periods in Uganda, Ethiopia, Sudan and Gambia. More recently he assisted in developing the New MA in Drylands Policy and Climate Change Adaptation here at Kimmage.
